Castle Point Light House
- 120 x 80 cm
let me tell you a bit about the Castlepoint Lighthouse. It's this incredible structure on the Wairarapa Coast, standing tall since 1913. You know, it was originally lit by oil and officially started shining on January 12th, 1913. Imagine that! Its light, a triple flash every 45 seconds, could be seen for 35 kilometers. Pretty cool, right? Then, in 1954, they switched out the oil lamp for an electric incandescent one. By 1961, it was connected to the mains grid, and in 1988, it became fully automated. Maritime New Zealand monitors it 24/7 now. It's the tallest lighthouse on the North Island, standing 52 meters above sea level. Fun fact: it's one of only two in New Zealand still using the original rotating Fresnel lens. People love visiting it, and it's often called the "Holiday Light" because of its picturesque location and popularity among tourists. It's such an iconic piece of our coastal history.......... Colorful Horizons
- 120 x 80 cm
Imagine a journey down a quiet road, where monochrome shadows embrace you under the weathered railway bridge. The stark, grayscale structure stands in contrast to the vivid life beyond. Through the archway, fields of green and gold unfurl, splashed with the vibrant hues of nature. The rolling hills and expansive sky, painted in rich blues and lush greens, beckon the traveler forward. It's a dramatic transformation from the muted tones of the past to the lively spectrum of the present. This scene captures the essence of transition and the promise of adventure, inviting us to step into the vibrant unknown.
